Meet Our Team
Dr. Laroge
Optometrist
Dr. Laforge was born and raised in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. He attended the University of Saskatchewan and earned a bachelor’s degree in Physiology in 2009 before moving on to the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, where he earned his Doctor of Optometry in 2013.
After practicing in North Battleford for 3 years, Dr. Laforge is excited to be back in Saskatoon at Broadway Eyecare, Warman Eyecare, and Stonebridge Eyecare. He enjoys practicing full-scope optometry and continuing his lifelong learning as vision science advances. He is also very interested in promoting optometry worldwide and helping the most underprivileged receive the care that they need. He has experience providing eye care in several developing countries across Central America and Africa, and continues to strive to make a difference.
He enjoys travelling, spending time at the lake, canoeing, skiing, and being active in many sports around the city.

Dr. Prestupa
Optometrist
Dr. Prestupa (nee Holinaty) was born and raised in Saskatoon. She graduated from Marion M. Graham Collegiate Institute in 2004 and went on to complete her undergraduate studies in microbiology at the University of Saskatchewan.
She was accepted to the University of Waterloo in 2007, where she graduated with honours from the Doctor of Optometry program in 2011. She was also awarded the L. M. Newell Clinical Optometry Prize and the A. W. Cole Award for Clinical Excellence. Then, she moved back to Saskatoon and began practicing optometry at Pinehouse Eyecare, Stonebridge Eyecare, Warman Eyecare, and, most recently, Broadway Eyecare. Outside of work, she and her husband are kept busy with their two young kids.
Dr. Prestupa enjoys all aspects of full-scope optometry, with a special interest in children’s vision, contact lenses, and co-management of laser refractive surgery. She is also excited to provide her patients with the latest diagnostic technology, including Optomap and OCT.

Dr. Kirkpatrick
Optometrist
Dr. Kirkpatrick was born and raised in Saskatoon. She attended the University of Saskatchewan, where she studied Anatomy and Cell Biology, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in 2007 and a Master of Science in 2009.
She was accepted into Optometry at the University of Waterloo and graduated with honours in 2013. While studying optometry, Dr. Kirkpatrick had the opportunity to travel to Ecuador in 2011 to provide eye exams and donated glasses to people who would not otherwise have access to eye care.
Dr. Kirkpatrick moved back to Saskatoon in 2013 and joined Luminus Vision Group, where she enjoys practicing full-scope optometry, with a special interest in children’s vision. She and her husband have 2 wonderful kids together.

Dr. Witzel
Optometrist
Dr. Jess Witzel was born and raised in Saskatoon. She completed her Bachelor of Science (honours) in Anatomy and Cell Biology in 2009 at the University of Saskatchewan and her Doctor of Optometry (honours) at the University of Waterloo in 2013. Jess was fortunate to be chosen as Valedictorian of her graduating class and especially enjoyed interdisciplinary care during her schooling. She is thrilled to be practicing at Brighton and Warman Eyecare.
Jess can often be found hanging out with her husband and two girls or drinking coffee. Dr. Witzel’s favourite part of her job is connecting with patients and their families.

Dr. Gerwing
Optometrist
Dr. Gerwing was born and raised in Saskatoon and completed her undergrad at the University of Saskatchewan. She received a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Pharmacology before being accepted into the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 2019.
After completing her Doctor of Optometry from ICO in 2023, she returned home to start her career with Luminus Vision Group. Dr. Gerwing practices primarily at Pinehouse Eyecare, Broadway Eyecare, Warman Eyecare, and Brighton Eyecare. She enjoys practicing full-scope optometry with a special interest in children’s vision, contact lenses, laser refractive surgery co-management, and ocular disease prevention.
Outside of work, Dr. Gerwing enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Harris
Optometrist
Dr. Harris was born and raised in Kindersley, Saskatchewan. She attended the University of Saskatchewan for her undergraduate studies, then enrolled in the Doctor of Optometry program at the University of Waterloo. Dr. Harris graduated in 2019 with honours and received the Academic Excellence in Ocular Pharmacology Award.
Dr. Harris is excited to be providing eye care in Saskatoon with Luminus Vision Group! She enjoys full-scope optometry and is especially interested in helping each child achieve the best possible vision.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their 2 young sons, being at the lake, sketching, and painting.

Dr. Sharback
Optometrist
Dr. Scharback was born and raised in Saskatoon. She attended the University of Saskatchewan, where she studied Microbiology and Immunology and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2012. In 2016, she was awarded her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo, graduating with honours.
During her final year of training, Dr. Scharback travelled to Kingston, Jamaica, to intern with the Foundation for International Self-Help (F.I.S.H.) Medical Clinic to provide eye care to those in need.
Dr. Scharback enjoys practicing full-scope optometry and is excited to return home to provide eye care to you and your family.
